BACKGROUNDSimon Rowe trained in
Shiatsu at the European Shiatsu School headquarters in Malborough, England for nearly four years, gaining his Diploma in Shiatsu. At the same time he maintained a regular Qi Gong and personal yoga practice to maintain health and wellbeing.
Further training was undertaken in chinese medicine at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (Reading), for a year followed by intensive Chinese
Acupuncture training and clinical experience with the Academy of Oriental Medicine, under Dr John Brazier OMD, gaining his Diploma in Chinese Acupuncture.
A post-graduate certificated course was completed in
Chinese Herbal Patent Medicine at the Shizhen College of TCM, Manchester with Professor Shulan Tang.
To supplement his acupuncture training, Simon specialises in
Japanese Acupuncture, utilising the concepts and techniques of Kiiko Matsumoto (Acupuncture Master) and attended a Japanese Meridian Therapy training program with Stephen Birch in Basle. He completed a year's post-graduate Foundation Course in Kiiko Matsumoto-style Acupuncture, in London 2006 and finished another year's training at the European Branch of the Toyohari Acupuncture Association, in Amsterdam 2007, again under Stephen Birch.
Further training with Jane Lyttleton,
TCM/Infertility Specialist, in Basle, Switzerland was undertaken during July 2007, to supplement his experience of dealing with an increasing number of sub-fertile women.
His
Hatha Yoga training was undertaken with Duncan Hulin, Yoga Director, Devon School of Yoga, in Varkala, Kerala State,
South India,in 2001 where he completed an intensive teacher training Foundation Course. He stayed on for another six months practicing yoga, visiting various ashrams and training with local teachers and schools. An advanced course in
Pranayama, Meditation and Asanas was also completed in southern Spain (2003), followed by further intensive residential workshops with the Devon School of Yoga.
An intensive 10-hour
Meditation retreat with the British Taoist Association was completed in Sussex during Spring 2006. Taoist philosophy, daoyin qigong, walking meditations and sitting practices were also followed during the weekend.
An Easter Yoga Retreat with Ishwara was completed in the Lake District in 2006, specialising in
Sivananda Yoga, mantras/chanting and pranayama. Followed by workshops with Nawajyoti in dynamic flowing
Hatha Yoga in the style of Swami Satchydananda, during the summer.
A Sarah Powers 2day workshop in
Yin Yoga was attended during 2007 at Tri-Yoga,London
Simon runs intensive Hatha Yoga Retreats to France, Spain and Turkey as well as regular workshops covering all aspects of Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation.
